Meanwhile, multiple explosions were reported across Iran's southern Hormozgan province on Wednesday night. Iranian media said blasts were heard in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, Sirik and on Abu Musa Island.
State-run IRIB News Agency also reported three explosions in Chabahar County, taking the total number of reported blasts in Bandar Abbas and surrounding areas to eight. Iran's air defence systems were activated following the explosions.
