US strike sinks Venezuelan drug vessel in Caribbean, 11 killed

US military forces carried out a strike on a vessel off the coast of Venezuela, killing 11 suspected members of the Tren de Aragua cartel, President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday.
The operation left 11 suspected cartel members dead. No US forces were reported injured posted on Truth Social, Trump said the strike targeted “narcoterrorists” linked to Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro while they were allegedly transporting narcotics through international waters toward the United States.
“Earlier this morning, on my orders, US Military Forces conducted a kinetic strike against positively identified Tren de Aragua narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility,” Trump wrote.
He described the group as a designated Foreign Terrorist Organisation operating under Maduro’s control and accused it of being responsible for “mass murder, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, and acts of violence
