US president introduces $5 mn ‘Trump Card’ for immigrants
Trump announced the programme on Truth Social, stating, “FOR FIVE MILLION $DOLLARS, THE TRUMP CARD IS COMING!” He added that there has been overwhelming interest, with thousands reportedly inquiring about how to apply for this exclusive pathway to live and work in the United States.
What Is the Trump Card?
The Trump Card is being marketed as a premium residency permit, reportedly requiring a $5 million investment. Although the programme is not yet operational, the recently launched website trumpcard.gov allows interested individuals to pre-register by submitting their name, region, email address, and whether they are applying personally or on behalf of a business.
The website features a preview of the Trump Card itself: a gold-coloured document adorned with Trump’s image and the label ‘The Trump Card’. The programme is accepting expressions of interest from applicants across eight global regions: Europe, Asia (including the Middle East), North America, Oceania, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and Africa.
Trump initially introduced the concept of the Trump Card in April, describing it as a fast-track visa offering an alternative to the traditional Green Card. Though initially projected to launch within weeks, the programme has yet to open formally. Visitors to the website are told that early registrants will be among the first notified when applications officially begin.
