US likely agrees to release Iran’s frozen assets in Qatar and foreign banks, says report

As US-Iran peace talks underwent in Islamabad, the US is likely to agree to release the frozen assets in Qatar and foreign banks, as per reports.
However, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, who has reached Islamabad and in a conversation with the media there, has clearly expressed his lack of trust in America.
Ghalibaf said that Iran is ready for talks, but it does not trust America's generosity at all by mentioning the US past promises. This is raising the question, will America remain stuck to this development in the future?
Recalling the bitter experiences of the past, Ghalibaf said that it has happened twice in the last year that the US attacked Iran and committed war crimes while peace talks were underway. He warned in clear words that this meeting will be able to move towards a concrete agreement only if the US recognizes the rights of the Iranian people. If these talks prove to be just a show or a fraud, Iran is capable of protecting its interests.
This is the first major direct talks between the two countries since the recently announced fragile ceasefire. The meeting is likely to discuss a range of issues, including Iran's nuclear programme, reopening the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, and ending the conflict that has been going on since February 28.
