Two private jets at Scottsdale airport in Arizona were involved in a collision on Monday, leaving one dead and several others injured. In total, four people were injured, and one was confirmed dead.
According to update of City of Scottsdale, the collision occurred when one private jet veered off the runway and collided with a parked Gulfstream g200 jet.
It is speculated that the primary landing gear of the arriving jet may have failed, which led to the collision.
Two of the injured were taken to trauma centres, while one was in stable condition at a hospital. Scottsdale Fire Department Capt Dave Folio mentioned that they were working to recover the body of the person who died in the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that the private jet that collided with the parked airliner had drifted off the runway.
The FAA stated that a Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp at Scottsdale Municipal Airport in Arizona.
The FAA also mentioned that they did not know how many people were on board and that flights into the airport had been temporarily paused.
Earlier this month, on February 2, a flight from Houston to New York caught fire during takeoff at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
Notably, another incident occurred earlier in January. On January 29, an American Airlines passenger jet collided with a military helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington, DC, on a Wednesday night.
The plane was carrying 67 passengers, and the crash resulted in no survivors. The aircraft had 60 passengers and four crew members, while the helicopter had three service members on board.
