Trump now tells European leaders to stop buying oil from Russia after 50 per cent tariffs on India

US President Donald Trump on Thursday said Europe must stop purchasing Russian oil as it helps Moscow to fund its war against Ukraine.

As per reports, the White House official told a news agency that Trump joined a call of the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ countries, led by French President Emmanuel Macron. The meeting was held in Paris on security guarantees for Kyiv amid talk of a peace deal with Russia.

French President Emmanuel Macron hosted the Paris summit, attended in person by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, while others, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, joined remotely.

Trump reportedly emphasised that Europe must stop purchasing Russian oil that is funding the war, as Russia received 1.1 billion euros in fuel sales from the EU in one year.

This comes just days after Washington slapped an additional 25% tariff on Indian imports, penalising New Delhi for its purchase of Russian crude.

Moreover, Macron said on Thursday that 26 nations have pledged to provide Ukraine the postwar support of an international force on land, sea, and in the air.
