Trump considering three-way meet with Putin, Zelenskyy over Russia-Ukraine conflict: Reports

US President Donald Trump is considering a three-way meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, shortly after his scheduled summit with Putin in Alaska, as per reports. The meeting, set to take place in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday, is aimed at addressing the ongoing three-year conflict in Ukraine.
Sources indicate that Trump, following a call with European leaders including Zelenskyy, described the discussions as positive. He is reportedly open to arranging a second meeting with both Putin and Zelenskyy almost immediately after the first, if both leaders are willing.
The upcoming summit comes amid a renewed Russian offensive, marking the largest advance into Ukraine in over a year. Zelenskyy has not been invited to the Alaska talks, raising concerns among Ukrainian and European officials that a potential US-Russia agreement could involve significant concessions from Kyiv.
During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump pledged to end the conflict on his first day in office. However, progress toward a peace agreement has been limited. While he has threatened secondary sanctions on nations trading with Russia, the deadline for such measures passed last week without action.
Reports also suggest that Trump has signaled he may cancel any follow-up meeting if he perceives Russia as negotiating in bad faith.
