Before the CEOs take each other head-on in the cage fight, the bells have rung on the internet. Twitter competitor, Threads by Instagram, is available now on both Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

The ‘Threads’ for users

The interface, features, and live feed for the Threads app would look very familiar to Twitter users.

The verified accounts on Instagram will be automatically verified on Threads, and one can log in to Threads with their Instagram handle.

The post allowances and DMs

Threads will allow users to post 500-character text, web links, up to 10 photos in one post, and videos for up to 5 minutes. The blocked users on Instagram will also stay blocked on Threads. However, unlike Instagram, there is no direct message feature available right now on Threads.

Instagram’s unique way to get its users to install Threads

To leverage its vast user base into getting the Threads application, Instagram utilised its widely used search bar. If a user would search ‘Threads’, the search bar would provide a tab at the end of the input section, which then took users to the Threads installation screen on their respective application stores.
