‘There is no reason to admit aliens to the US’, USCIS director warns fraudsters

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) director Edlow warns fraudsters that they should be prepared to face the consequences, saying, “There is no reason to admit aliens to the US.”

In an interview, Edlow reportedly said, “If you hope to become a lawful resident or American citizen, you must show that you can take care of yourself.”

Edlow warned fraudsters that they should be prepared to face the consequences, as the administration is coming after people who have a Green Card.

He added that, ”There is no reason to admit aliens to the US who would unfairly burden American taxpayers.”

“The administration wants people who will not become a burden on the system,” Edlow said. "We want people to come to this country who can take care of themselves and are not going to be drained of the public coffers. If you cannot pay for yourself and take care of yourself, you are not going to get a Green Card in this country," he added.

The statement came at a time when the administration had paused immigration and benefits for several countries, arrested and deported Green Card holders.
