Amid the growing communal tension in Bangladesh, another Hindu priest of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) was arrested by authorities on Saturday.

Radharam Das, vice president and spokesperson of Iskcon Kolkata, posted on ‘X’ about the alleged second arrest of an Iskcon Hindu priest by Bangladeshi authorities.

Radharam Das shared a picture of Brahmachari Shri Shyam Das Prabhu and wrote in his post, “Does he look like a terrorist?"”He continued the post with the hashtag #FreeISKCONMonks, expressing concern over the arrests.

He stated, “These arrests of innocent ISKCON Brahmacharis are deeply concerning and disturbing.”

Reportedly, he was arrested without any official warrant.

This arrest follows the detention of Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari on Monday by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch.

Chinmoy Das, the spiritual leader, was arrested on a sedition charge after his involvement in a rally in Chittagong last October. He is accused of showing disrespect to the Bangladesh flag, which led to the filing of a case under the country’s 1860 Penal Code.
