Seattle Festival Shooting: 3 Dead, 4 Injured Near Space Needle as Police Search for Second Suspect

A shooting during the Bite of Seattle food festival near the iconic Space Needle in Seattle left three people dead and four others injured, including a young child, after gunfire erupted at the crowded event on Sunday evening. Gunfire Breaks Out at Popular Seattle Event

The shooting took place at Seattle Center, a major entertainment and cultural hub, while thousands of visitors were attending the annual Bite of Seattle festival.

According to police officials, the incident occurred at around 6 pm when two individuals allegedly exchanged gunfire inside the festival area. Authorities said the shooting did not appear to be a random attack and are investigating the circumstances that led to the confrontation.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene shortly after reports of gunfire emerged, while police evacuated parts of Seattle Center and advised the public to avoid the area during the initial investigation.

Three Killed, Toddler Among Injured

Officials confirmed that seven people were hit by gunfire.

Two victims were declared dead at the scene, while another person later died after being taken to Harborview Medical Center. Four others, including a two-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man and two adult women, were transported to hospital for treatment.

Hospital authorities said one woman was in critical condition and undergoing surgery, while other injured victims were reported to be in stable condition.

A 40-year-old woman who suffered minor injuries was treated at the site and declined further medical care.

Witnesses Describe Panic as Crowds Flee

Festival attendees described scenes of chaos after multiple gunshots rang out inside the venue.

Witnesses said they heard several rounds of gunfire before people began running for safety. Families attending the food festival rushed away from the area as vendors and visitors abandoned stalls and sought shelter.

Police teams immediately secured the location and began collecting evidence from the scene.

Police Hunt for Second Suspect

Seattle Police have arrested one person in connection with the shooting, while investigators continue searching for another suspect believed to have been involved.

Authorities have recovered firearms from the scene and are examining witness statements, surveillance footage and other evidence to determine the sequence of events.
