Russia, China strengthen military ties to counter US, call for solution to Ukraine war

Russia and China have pledged to deepen their military cooperation as part of a joint effort to resist growing US influence globally. The announcement came after a high-level meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow, as per reports.
Both leaders reportedly emphasised that a lasting resolution to the war in Ukraine requires addressing its root causes. The declaration reflects their shared stance that geopolitical tensions cannot be resolved without considering deeper structural issues.
President Putin also thanked President Xi for attending events marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II – an occasion both leaders used to reinforce their historical and strategic alliance.
The talks and resulting statement underscore an ongoing alignment between Moscow and Beijing as they seek to reshape global power dynamics and present a united front against US policies.
