US President Joe Biden announced a ₹425 million security assistance package for Ukraine on Wednesday that includes additional air defense capabilities, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles, and critical munitions to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs.

After President Biden spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the US supporting Ukraine, he announced that the US would be providing this security assistance package.

According to a statement released by the White House, US will be providing hundreds of air defense interceptors, dozens of tactical air defense systems, additional artillery systems, ammunition, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, and armored vehicles to support the Ukrainian army.

The statement further noted that President Biden will be hosting a virtual leader-level meeting with the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, where the leaders will coordinate with international partners to assist Ukraine.
