Plane crash at Montana airport

Four people escaped with minor injuries after a small aircraft crashed at Montana’s Kalispell City Airport on Monday afternoon (local time).

According to the Kalispell city government, the incident occurred at around 2.08 pm when the plane, carrying four out-of-state occupants, lost control while attempting to land. The aircraft struck several parked planes, sparking fires that damaged multiple aircraft.

Emergency crews from the Kalispell Police Department, Kalispell Fire Department, and several assisting agencies quickly contained and extinguished the blaze, preventing further destruction. All four occupants were treated at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified and will lead the investigation into the cause of the crash.

Earlier in July, an aircraft in California, bearing tail number N8796R and carrying three people, went down approximately 200–300 yards offshore on July 26. The aircraft had originally departed from San Carlos Airport. All individuals aboard the aircraft were believed to be dead.
