Pakistan shuts airspace until Sunday noon over Indo-Pak conflict

Amid the escalating tensions at the border between Pakistan and India, Pakistan authorities have closed airspace until Sunday noon.
As per reports, Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) on Saturday announced that Pakistan’s airspace will remain closed until Sunday 12 noon.
The decision was notified through a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).
The move follows a night of intense drone activity along India’s northern and western borders after Pakistan launched a coordinated wave of drone attacks targeting military infrastructure across 26 locations, ranging from Srinagar to Naliya.
Notably, India on Friday said that the neighbouring nation was using civilian flights as ‘cover’ and it didn’t even close the civilian airspace despite launching an attack on India.
“Pakistan’s irresponsible behaviour has again come to the fore. It did not close its civil airspace despite launching a failed unprovoked drone and missile attack on May 7 at 8.30 hours in the evening,” Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said at a special briefing on Operation Sindoor.
“Pakistan is using a civil airliner as a shield, knowing fully well that its attack on India would elicit a swift air defence response,” she said.
