Over 200 Indian passengers, including 2 Gujaratis stranded at Turkey airport
More than 200 Indian passengers, including two Gujaratis have been stranded at the Diyarbakir Airport in Turkey for over 16 hours after a Virgin Atlantic flight from London to Mumbai made an emergency landing due to a medical emergency, as per reports.
The plane was stuck at the airport, which was not equipped to handle the situation, according to reports. The arrangements were taking a long time, and during the landing, the plane reportedly sustained a technical glitch, which was communicated to the passengers.
Passengers remained unclear about their onward journey from Turkey, as no alternative arrangements had been announced yet.
According to reports, the emergency landing was made for a passenger who had suffered a panic attack. However, the Turkish airport was not efficient or equipped enough to handle the aircraft. Passengers are urging the authorities and management to arrange alternative transportation as soon as possible.
Reports also stated that passengers were not provided with accommodation and were not allowed to leave the airport, as it was a military base.
