Norway and France police have launched a joint investigation team to investigate top diplomats Mona Juul and her husband Terje Rod-Larsen over alleged ties with the US’ convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Mona Juul, 67, Norway's ambassador to Britain, and her husband, Terje Rod-Larsen, 78, are reportedly under the radar of Norwegian police over alleged ties to Epstein. Similarly, Fabrice Aidan, a French diplomat who worked at the United Nations from 2006 to 2013, is also under investigation over allegedly committing financial offenses mentioned in the Epstein files.  He reportedly served as an aide to Rod-Larsen, who was a special envoy to the UN Secretary-General from 2005 to 2016.

Following the links between diplomats, a joint investigation team has been established between Okokrim, the Norwegian police’s economic unit, and the French police, as per reports.

The Norwegian police reportedly said that they will co-operate with French counterparts in the investigation.

Norwegian police opened an investigation in February into whether Juul received benefits in connection with her position. In the investigation, Police found that the couple allegedly received financial assistance to purchase an Oslo apartment in 2018 at a price below the market value, a trip to Epstein’s Island, and the payment of home-care services for Rod-larsen. It is also noted that Juul was a section chief at the Norwegian foreign ministry and later became ambassador to the United Kingdom in 2010 and exchanged thoughts with Epstein, as mentioned in his released files.
