Nepal PM Balen Shah removes minister after breaching party’s code of conduct

Nepal PM Balen Shah removes the Labour Minister Deepak Kumar Sah from the Rastriya Swantra Party for breaching the code of conduct. The party accused him of misusing his power to retain his wife in the government body.
Deepak Kumar Sah, who was appointed as Labour Minister on March 28 after he had been elected as Member of Parliament in the national elections held on March 5. Just 10 days of his tenure, he was reportedly removed from his post after being found guilty of breaching the code of conduct of his party.
The ruling party, Rastriya Swantra Party’s central disciplinary committee reported that they found Sah using his power to retain his wife, Junu Shrestha, as a member of the Health Insurance Board. As per this report, the committee recommended action against him.
Earlier, RSP chairman Rabi Lamichhane had written a letter to PM Balen Shah, in which he said that Sah’s move had undermined the party's image, principles, and integrity, and his actions warranted immediate punishments.
On the basis of the letter, the PM's secretariat reportedly said that Sah was removed from his post as well as the party.
