Melania Trump has reportedly issued a $1 billion legal notice to Hunter Biden, demanding a retraction of remarks linking her to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Her legal team has warned of pursuing legal action if the statements are not withdrawn.

According to reports, Biden, son of former President Joe Biden suggested in a recent interview that Epstein had played a role in introducing Melania to Donald Trump. Her attorney, Alejandro Brito, stated in a letter that the allegations were false, defamatory, and damaging to her reputation. The letter further claimed that the remarks, which were circulated widely on social media and covered by news outlets internationally, had caused significant financial and reputational harm to the first lady.

The disputed comments were reportedly made during an extended interview with journalist Andrew Callaghan, during which Biden criticised political figures he claimed had undermined his father’s previous presidential campaign. He is said to have attributed the allegation to author Michael Wolff, a writer whom Donald Trump has previously accused of fabricating stories.

Reports indicate that Biden has not withdrawn his statement and, in a subsequent conversation with Callaghan from an undisclosed vacation location, appeared to stand by his original claim despite the threat of legal proceedings.
