Man arrested for molesting Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum in public

The first woman President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, was molested by a man on Tuesday. A video of the incident has gone viral, shocking the viewers.

As per reports, she has decided to press charges against the accused Uriel Rivera Martinez.

In the viral video, Martinez is seen hugging Claudia Sheinbaum from behind and attempting to kiss her without consent, resulting in an awkward and uncomfortable moment for the Mexican president.

As per reports, Martinez was not immediately apprehended, he was arrested hours later and presented before the Prosecutor’s Office for Sexual Offences.

According to an arrest report cited by a Mexican news report, Martinez is said to be 1.60 metres tall, slim build, dark complexion, and short black hair. 

Authorities have not revealed Martinez’s occupation or confirmed whether he has any medical condition.

Martinez faces up to six years in prison along with additional penalties. President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that Martinez was intoxicated at the time of the incident and had been harassing other women in the area—behaviour that could further increase his sentence.
