President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he will meet New York City’s incoming mayor, Zohran ‘Kwame’ Mamdani, at the Oval Office on Friday, November 21.

In his post, Trump wrote: “Communist Mayor of New York City, Zohran ‘Kwame’ Mamdani, has asked for a meeting. We have agreed that this meeting will take place at the Oval Office on Friday, November 21st. Further details to follow!”

The meeting will mark the first official interaction between Trump and Mamdani since the latter’s decisive victory in the New York mayoral election.

Mamdani, who had maintained a commanding lead for months, defeated Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and former Governor Andrew Cuomo who ran as an independent. His win cements him as the city’s first openly socialist mayor-elect and one of the most left-wing leaders New York has ever elected.

The White House has yet to reveal the agenda for their upcoming discussion, but political observers expect friction and negotiation on issues such as immigration, federal funding, housing, and public safety areas where Trump and Mamdani stand ideologically miles apart.
