Israeli airstrikes have killed 15 people on Monday, including three journalists, one of whom worked for Reuters, during the Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Gaza, the news agency said on its social media account on X (formerly Twitter)
The agency reported that cameraman Hussam al-Masri, a Reuters contractor, was killed in the first strike. Photographer Hatem Khaled, also a Reuters contractor, was wounded in a second strike on the hospital.
“We are devastated to learn of the death of Reuters contractor Hussam al-Masri and the injuries sustained by another of our contractors, Hatem Khaled, in Israeli strikes on the Nasser hospital in Gaza today,” a Reuters spokesperson said in a statement.
“We are urgently seeking more information and have asked authorities in Gaza and Israel to help us obtain immediate medical assistance for Hatem,” the spokesperson added.
The Israeli military and the Prime Minister’s Office reportedly had no immediate comment regarding the strikes.
Earlier, at least two people were killed and 35 others wounded due to the Israeli airstrikes in several locations in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, according to Houthi-run health authorities.
The casualties were reported at the Oil Company Station, a gas station run by the Houthi-controlled Yemeni Petroleum Company, one of several sites targeted in the city. Medics warned that the death toll could rise as more victims are being brought to hospitals, Chinese news agency reported.
