ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria)’s global operations head Abdullah Makki Muslih al-Rifai aka Abu Khadija was killed by the US in collaboration with Iraqi private agencies and security forces.

Several other ISIS terrorists were also killed in the US strike. US military officials said that Khadija handled logistics, planning, and finances of the terrorist group worldwide.

After the airstrike, US Central Command and Iraqi forces reached the scene and confirmed the death of Abu Khadija and other ISIS members. According to CENTCOM, the men were wearing suicide vests that did not explode and were carrying multiple weapons.

Khadija’s identity was confirmed through DNA using samples collected from an earlier raid, in which he had narrowly escaped.

US Central Command commander General Michael Eric Kurilla said that Abu Khadija was one of the most important ISIS members in the entire global ISIS organisation and the US will continue to kill terrorists and destroy their organisations that pose a threat to United States and allies.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani praised the operation, describing Abu Khadija as one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world.

In a post on the social media platform X, al-Sudani confirmed that the operation was carried out with the support of the US-led coalition.
