Imran Khan Meets Wife Bushra Bibi and Sister Inside Adiala Jail After Court Order

Incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has met his wife, Bushra Bibi, and sister inside Rawalpindi’s high-security Adiala Jail, marking their first interaction of the year following a direct judicial intervention.

Prison authorities facilitated the family meeting after a court issued explicit directions ordering access for the former prime minister’s immediate relatives and legal team.

Judicial Intervention Breaks Visitation Lockjam

The meeting comes after months of restricted access at Adiala Jail, where the 73-year-old former premier has been held since August 2023. Khan’s legal representatives had repeatedly petitioned the court, citing severe administrative curbs that prevented family visits and confidential legal consultations.

Hearing the plea regarding visitation rights, the court directed the prison administration to arrange the meeting without delay. Strict security measures were deployed around the Adiala facility in Rawalpindi during the interaction, with heavy police presence guarding entry checkpoints along access roads.

Prolonged Detention and Mounting Legal Battles

Khan faces a series of convictions and ongoing trials, including corruption charges under the Toshakhana cases and allegations of leaking state secrets. His wife, Bushra Bibi, has also been named alongside him in several cases, leading to shared legal proceedings inside the prison establishment.

Supporters and PTI leaders have consistently raised concerns over Khan’s detention conditions and restricted communication with the outside world.
