Hyderabad Youth Found Dead in Texas After Months Of Struggling To Find A Job After Master’s Degree

A Hyderabad youth who moved to the United States in pursuit of higher education and a career found dead in a suspected case of suicide in San Antonio, Texas, on August 21, after reportedly struggling for months to secure a job following his master’s degree in computer science.

Sai Pradeep, who had moved to the US in 2024, had been under severe mental and financial stress, according to details shared by his family. He had completed a master’s degree in computer science from Anderson University College of Business in South Carolina and had been trying to find employment after completing his studies.

Struggled To Find A Job After Master’s Degree

According to his family, Pradeep made repeated efforts to secure a job in the US but remained unemployed for months. The prolonged job search, coupled with growing financial pressure, reportedly took a toll on him.

Pradeep died by suicide in San Antonio, Texas, on August 21, his family said.

His death has also highlighted the difficulties faced by international students who move abroad with hopes of building careers but can face financial uncertainty and prolonged employment searches after completing their studies.

Fundraiser Launched To Bring Body Back To Hyderabad

A fundraiser has been launched to help bring Pradeep’s body back to Hyderabad and cover funeral and other necessary expenses.

According to his cousin Deepti, the campaign has set a target of $35,000, with around $28,000 raised so far. Any amount left after the required arrangements will reportedly be used to provide financial support to his parents.

Had Worked With Amazon In Hyderabad

Pradeep had professional experience in India before moving to the US. According to his LinkedIn profile, he had previously worked with Amazon in Hyderabad.

After moving to America in 2024, he also learnt Spanish, his cousin said.

Despite completing his master’s degree and making efforts to improve his professional prospects, Pradeep reportedly remained unable to find a suitable job.

His family is now seeking support to bring his remains back to Hyderabad and help them deal with the financial burden following his death.
