Game of Thrones fame Michael Patrick dies at 35 after prolonged illness
Actor Michael Patrick, who appeared briefly in Game of Thrones, passed away at the age of 35 after fighting motor neurone disease, as per reports. He passed away peacefully at a hospice in Northern Ireland, surrounded by his family and friends, shared his wife, Naomi Sheehan.
Naomi said that Michael was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in February 2023. He had been admitted to hospice care 10 days before his death, where doctors and staff looked after him.
Michael was known for playing a Wildling Rioter in Season 6 of the popular TV series, though his role was small, he was remembered by many for his kind nature and strong spirit.
Naomi described him as an inspiration to everyone who met him. She said he lived life fully, with joy, laughter, and a positive attitude even during his illness. She also thanked family, friends, and supporters who helped them during the difficult time.
Motor neurone disease is a serious illness that slowly damages nerve cells. It affects movement, speech, swallowing, and breathing, and gets worse over time.
In her tribute, Naomi also shared a quote that Michael loved. It talked about enjoying simple things in life like eating, drinking, and being loved, and not overthinking life.
