Tensions in the region escalated further after fresh US-Israel strikes targeted a railway bridge in Kashan, leaving two people dead and three others injured, according to reports.

The latest attack comes shortly after multiple strikes hit Kharg Island, a critical hub for Iran’s energy infrastructure. Located in the Persian Gulf, the island handles nearly 90% of Iran’s crude oil exports, making it a key strategic and economic asset.

The escalation follows a reported 48-hour deadline set by Donald Trump for a new round of strikes on Iran if no agreement is reached. Reports suggest the planned operations could target key infrastructure, including bridges and power facilities, with warnings of widespread damage.

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts appear to have stalled. Iran has rejected a US-proposed peace framework and instead put forward its own set of conditions, including an end to hostilities, lifting of sanctions, and recognition of its control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian officials have also dismissed calls for a ceasefire, warning that any pause in fighting would only allow opposing forces to regroup.

The situation remains highly volatile, with continued strikes on critical infrastructure raising concerns of a wider regional conflict and potential disruption to global energy markets.
