Former student opens fires at a school in Turkey, injuring 16

A former student opened fire at a high school in Siverek, south east Turkey, wounding 16 people before killing himself, as per reports.
The 18-year-old attacker was reportedly armed with a shotgun, firing randomly at a vocational high school before hiding inside the building. He proceeded to kill himself with the same shotgun.
Reports indicate that the attacker left 10 students, four teachers, a canteen employee and a police officer wounded, and most of them are being treated in Siverek, five of the teachers and students were transferred to a hospital in the provincial capital because their conditions were more serious.
All students were evacuated and then the police special operation units were deployed after the assailant refused to surrender. The reason behind the attack remains unclear, as school shootings are reportedly rare in Turkey.
