Five police officers killed, eight Injured in multiple militant attacks in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A wave of coordinated militant assaults across Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has left at least five police personnel dead and eight others wounded, as per multiple reports.
In Peshawar’s Hassan Khel area, militants reportedly attacked a police station and two checkpoints, resulting in the death of one constable and injuries to another.
In Upper Dir, a Quick Response Force vehicle reportedly came under heavy fire in an ambush, killing three policemen and injuring eight more. The wounded were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, and a search operation was launched soon after.
Another constable was killed in two separate incidents targeting police checkpoints in Maidan, Lajbok, and Shadas areas of Lower Dir. In the Khyber district, armed assailants attacked a joint Frontier Corps-police post at Sakhi Pul but were driven back by return fire.
Similar attacks were reported in Nasir Bagh and Mattani in Peshawar, both of which were thwarted without casualties. In Bannu, militants targeted the Mazangha checkpoint within Hovid Police Station limits, but no injuries occurred.
In Charsadda, unidentified assailants on motorcycles threw a hand grenade at the Tarlandi checkpoint early Thursday, though it failed to cause injuries or damage.
Following the incidents, security was tightened across all police stations and checkpoints in the province, with personnel placed on high alert. Provincial Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the violence, calling the attacks cowardly and reaffirming the government’s resolve to counter militancy.
