The case of America’s notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has once again come into the spotlight. A set of 8,544 documents submitted to the US House Oversight Committee includes the names of prominent figures such as Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk, billionaire tech investor Peter Thiel, and US President Donald Trump’s strategist Steve Bannon.

These documents indicate that even after Epstein’s controversial 2007 plea deal (an agreement to plead guilty in exchange for a lighter sentence), he maintained ties with some of the world’s most influential and wealthy individuals.

Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy American socialite infamous for his dark dealings. He owned multi-million-dollar properties from New York to Florida, private jets, and luxurious resorts.

During the 1990s and 2000s, he was connected to major political and entertainment figures, including Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Prince Andrew, and Bill Gates. In 2002, Trump even publicly described him as a terrific guy.

However, in 2007 Epstein was caught in a major scandal involving the sexual abuse of underage girls. Due to the controversial plea deal, he served only 13 months in jail and was registered as a sex offender. In 2019, he was arrested again on charges of sex trafficking minors, but allegedly died by suicide in jail before the trial began.

The third batch of documents released by Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee contains Epstein’s daily diaries, flight logs, phone message records, and financial documents totaling 8,544 files.

Elon Musk name appears in file

Among the documents is an itinerary dated December 6, 2014, mentioning a planned visit by Elon Musk to Epstein’s private island. A handwritten note on the document reads, “Is this still happening?” While it remains unconfirmed whether Musk actually visited the island, the document indicates that he was at least once in contact with Epstein.

Reacting to a tweet on X about the same, Musk refuted his involvement, simply saying, “This is false.”

The documents also mention a breakfast meeting between Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, and Epstein in early 2019, just months before Epstein’s arrest.

Financial records reference payments for massages, a detail linked to Britain’s Prince Andrew. They also show that, starting in 2000, Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Prince Andrew frequently traveled between New Jersey and Florida.

A note from late 2017 also records a lunch meeting with billionaire tech investor and Trump supporter Peter Thiel, a major figure in Silicon Valley.

With Elon Musk’s name appearing in this third batch of Epstein files, Musk has strongly denied the allegations, calling them completely false.

These new revelations have triggered a political storm in the United States. Democratic members claim that the documents confirm Epstein’s ties to the world’s most powerful people and will help deliver justice to the victims.

Republican members, on the other hand, dismiss the release as a political stunt, accusing Democrats of cherry-picking documents to expose Republicans while suppressing files that may contain the names of Democratic leaders.
