Elon Musk threatens to launch ‘America Party’ over Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’

Billionaire Elon Musk has openly challenged Donald Trump over his ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’, calling it insane and a burden on taxpayers. Musk warned that if the Senate passes the bill, he will launch a new political party named the ‘America Party’ the very next day.
The bill, a key part of Trump’s second-term agenda, seeks massive spending on defence, energy, and border security while cutting nutrition and healthcare. The Congressional Budget Office estimates it would increase the fiscal deficit by $3.3 trillion over 10 years.
Posting on X, Musk said, “This bill raises the debt ceiling by a record $5 trillion. It’s clear we live in a one-party state – the ‘Porky Pig Party’. It’s time for a new party that cares about the people.”
He also criticised Republican leaders like House Freedom Caucus Chair Andy Harris, stating that if they vote for the largest debt ceiling increase after promising spending cuts, they should be ashamed.
What’s the Big Beautiful Bill?
The ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ focuses on funds for the US president’s top immigration, border, tax-cut and military priorities and policies. The bill is a part of Trump’s efforts towards tax cuts and spending.
According to this bill, there will be an extension in the 2017 tax cuts imposed during Trump’s first presidency, which cut other taxes and boost spending on military and border security as part of the crackdown on immigration.
As Trump aims to fulfil his promise of the largest mass deportation operation in the US history, the bill would provide around $350 billion for Trump’s border and national security agenda, including $46 billion for the US-Mexico border wall and $45 billion for 100,000 migrant detention facility beds.
