Drone strike triggers fire outside Abu Dhabi nuclear plant amid Middle East tensions

A drone strike triggered a fire outside the perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, according to statements issued by UAE authorities.

Officials said the fire broke out in an electrical generator located outside the inner perimeter of the nuclear facility in the Al Dhafra region. Authorities confirmed that emergency teams responded immediately and brought the situation under control.

According to the official statement released by Abu Dhabi Media, no injuries were reported and there was no impact on radiation safety levels at the plant. Officials also stated that all precautionary measures had been implemented following the incident.

The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR UAE) confirmed that the fire did not affect the safety of the nuclear power plant or the operational readiness of its core systems. Authorities said all units at the facility continue to operate normally.

UAE authorities urged the public not to spread rumours or unverified information and advised residents to rely only on official sources for updates regarding the incident.
