Deadly shooting kills 11 people,12 injured at football field in central Mexico

At least 11 people were killed and 12 were injured in the open fire at a soccer field in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico, a place considered the epicenter of the deadly violence for criminal groups in Mexico, according to reports.
On 25th January, there was a deadly shooting by armed assailants in the football pitch of central Mexico that killed 11 people and left 12 injured. The shooting took place in the Loma de Flores neighbourhood of Salamanca, in the violence-hit state of Guanajuato, shortly after a local football match ended, according to reports citing municipal and state authorities.
After the shooting, Guanajuato state prosecutor office said that they opened the investigation and coordinating with federal authorities to reinforce security in the area.State and federal forces have been deployed as part of efforts to stabilize the city.
Attack after the football match
An armed group arrived at the field as people were gathered after the match ended and began firing indiscriminately, as per a statement by Salamanca’s Mayor Cesar Prieto.
The mayor clarified in his statement that there were 10 victims died at the scene, and one died later in hospital. Among the injured,there one woman and one minor.
