Dallas ICE shooting: One detainee dead, two critical in sniper attack

A rooftop sniper opened fire on a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday morning, killing one immigration detainee and critically injuring two others, as per officials.
According to ICE, the gunman fired indiscriminately at the Dallas field office, striking an ICE transport van in the sallyport where detainees were inside.
Three detainees were shot, one died at the scene, and two remain in critical condition, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed.
The suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
No ICE officers or police were injured.
FBI Director Kash Patel said unused ammunition recovered at the scene carried an ‘ANTI-ICE’ message on at least one casing, signaling a possible political motive. Investigators are working to determine whether the attack was part of a growing wave of threats against ICE as the agency intensifies efforts to carry out President Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans.
ICE called the incident senseless violence and said it is cooperating with the FBI and local law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
