Colombian singer dies in plane crash in Boyacá province

A private charter aircraft crashed in Boyacá, Colombia, killing renowned Colombian singer Yeison Jiménez. The pilot and four other crew members on board also lost their lives in the tragic accident.

According to reports, the charter plane had taken off from the Juan José Rondón Airport. Within minutes of departure, the aircraft failed to gain the required altitude and crashed into a field near the runway. Videos from the crash site showed the wreckage engulfed in flames. The incident occurred in the area between Paipa and Duitama in Boyacá province.

Officials said that Yeison Jiménez was returning after performing at a musical event in Boyacá. He was travelling to Medellín airport and was scheduled to attend another programme in Marinilla. Unfortunately, the aircraft crashed before reaching its destination.
