Burj Khalifa builder praises Indians’ work ethics

Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties and the man behind famous projects like the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, has reportedly praised Indians for having one of the best work ethics in the world.
Speaking at the ‘Make It’ in the Emirates summit, Alabbar said he likes hiring Indian professionals because they are hardworking, responsible, and dependable. As per reports, he shared that Indians are always ready to support their work and stay available even during odd hours.
"The harder you work, the luckier you will get. There's a saying, hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard, and this is why I like to hire Indians, because they answer the phone even at one o'clock in the morning," Alabbar reportedly said while talking about Indian employees and their dedication towards work.
Alabbar also said that success in business is not only about intelligence. According to him, discipline, teamwork, smart planning, and attention to detail are equally important. He mentioned that he considers his IQ average, but believes his strong work ethic helped him become successful.
Talking about business challenges, Alabbar explained that companies should always stay prepared for difficult situations. He referred to major crises like the 2008 financial crash and the COVID-19 pandemic and said these experiences taught businesses the importance of staying flexible and strong during hard times.
He added that during recent crises, Emaar focused on protecting employees by keeping jobs safe and salaries stable. According to him, a company’s real reputation is seen in how it supports workers during difficult times.
