US President Donald Trump has hinted at a ‘very big’ trade deal with India, weeks after a team of negotiators from the two countries held four-day closed-door talks on the agreement. Addressing the ‘Big Beautiful Event’ at the White House, Trump said he has a ‘great deal’ with India.

According to reports, the July 9 deadline for imposing tariffs is also likely to be extended.

What did Trump say about India?

Referring to the possibility of a trade agreement, Trump said in his speech, “Everyone wants to make a deal and wants to be part of it. Remember, a few months ago, the press was asking, ‘Is anyone really interested in this?’ Just yesterday, we signed an agreement with China. We are making some great deals. We are going to make another deal, maybe with India, a very big deal.”

Will everyone get tariff relief?

Trump said that, “We are not going to make deals with every other country. We are not going to make deals with everyone. Some people will simply receive a letter from us saying thank you very much. You will have to pay 25, 35, or 45% tariff.”
