Baron Trump, the 19-year-old son of US President Donald Trump, is likely to take on a lead role in the Chinese social media application TikTok.

Jake Advent, who had previously worked as the president's social media manager, says that Baron would be perfect to help lead the social media giant once it’s transferred to American investors.

Speaking to a British daily, Advent made the proposal to broaden the social media platform's appeal among young people.

Baron, the son of Donald and Lady Melania Trump, who recently moved back into the White House while attending classes at New York University's DC campus, has yet to comment on the proposition.

Trump has credited his son for guiding him on 'reaching a younger audience' and helping him win his latest election.

Melania also commented that her son was instrumental as he "knows his generation".

The US President made his comeback to the social media platform on October 6 by posting a video from the Oval Office. Within just a few hours, the clip went viral, attracting over six million views.

In the video, he said, "To all those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big."

Recently, Donald Trump signed an executive order clearing the way for investors to operate a US version of TikTok.
