Anti-Trump ‘hands off’ protests erupt across different states in US

Americans took to the roads to protest against the divisive policies of President Donald Trump on Saturday.
Tens of thousands of demonstrators across the US flooded the streets in what marked the largest nationwide protest against Trump and Elon Musk since his inauguration in January. Massive crowds gathered in major cities such as Los Angeles, Boston, and Washington DC.
As per reports, the ‘Hands Off’ protests were organised by the left-leaning groups including civil rights organisations, labour unions, LBGTQ+ advocates, veterans and elections activists.
The protestors described it as Trump’s “authoritarian overreach and billionaire-backed agenda”.
According to the US media, demonstrations were held at more than 1,200 locations, in all 50 states by more than 150 groups with more than 5 lakh people joining the protests.
As per reports, the protestors emphasised grievances with Trump’s agenda ranging from social to economic issues.
The anti-Trump rallies even extended to some European cities, where demonstrators voiced opposition to Trump and his aggressive trade policies.
In London, protestors held signs reading, ‘WTAF America?’, ‘Stop hurting people’ and ‘He’s an idiot’. The protestors chanted ‘hands off Canada’, ‘hands off Greenland’ and ‘hands off Ukraine’, suggesting Trump’s changes to US foreign policy.
