"We must remain vigilant about frauds arising from the use of AI along with its development. There is no fear of losing jobs due to AI, but the way we work will undergo significant changes. We need to be prepared for this," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the AI Action Summit in Paris, France on Tuesday.

Speaking about the future of AI, PM Modi stated, "AI is advancing rapidly, and India is ready to share its expertise and experience in this field. The future of AI is bright, but since it is a distinct technology, caution is essential. While embracing AI, India is also leading in data privacy through techno-legal measures. We are developing AI applications for public welfare, and India has built a low-cost digital public infrastructure for its 1.4 billion people. However, global standards are necessary to address AI-related challenges."

Proposal to develop open-source systems

PM Modi expressed gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron for inviting him to represent India at the AI Summit. He said, "I thank the French President for inviting me to the AI Summit. AI has reshaped our economy, security, and society. In this century, AI is essentially writing the 'human code' of principles for mankind. We must bring together our resources and talents on a common platform. Open-source systems should be developed to promote trust and transparency. We must also address concerns related to cybersecurity, misinformation, and deepfakes."

Addressing concerns about job losses due to AI, PM Modi remarked, "Many people fear losing their jobs due to AI. However, history shows that technology does not take away jobs but changes the way we work. New jobs are created. To prepare for the future, we must invest in skill development and reskilling of our workforce."
