Bagodara police nab 12 people including councillor’s husband boozing at Durgadham’s Gorani Farm

Twelve people were caught boozing by Bagodara police at Gorani Farm on the Rajkot–Bagodara highway. Six luxury cars and other items worth ₹36 lakh were seized in the raid. A preliminary investigation revealed that the party was organised to celebrate the birthday of a local leader from Bavla. Durgadham, which is engaged in social activities for the Brahma Samaj, runs the Gorani Farm.
Based on information that a liquor party was going on at Gorani Farm in Kanotar village limits on the Bagodara–Rajkot highway, Police Inspector U B Jogarana, along with his staff, conducted a raid. Inside the farmhouse conference room, 12 men were found drinking. Among them was Mayurdhwajsinh Dabhi, husband of a Bavla Nagarpalika councillor Komalba Dabhi.
Investigations revealed that Harshad Thakkar, a resident of Jawaharnagar, Bavla, had organised the party to celebrate his birthday and had booked the conference room from the Durgadham management. The police seized three bottles of liquor, six luxury cars, 16 mobile phones, and other items, totaling ₹36 lakh from the place.
A liquor party at Gorani Farm managed by Durgadham has raised questions about the management.
