Youth stabbed in alleged assault by neighbour and his son in Vejalpur

A 19-year-old student from Vejalpur was allegedly stabbed in the forehead by a neighbour following a heated altercation on the night of May 1. The incident occurred near Shailesh Park Society, close to Jivraj Park, where the victim, Darsheel Vinodbhai Sagathia, resides with his family.
As per the complaint at Vejalpur police station, Darsheel, a third-year student at Government Polytechnic NEC College, was initially called to the society gate around 7.30 pm by a friend, Vikram Sondharwa. Vikram, accompanied by another youth named Gaurav, reportedly began confronting Darsheel over a previous dispute and allegedly provoked him with abusive language. When Darsheel refused to retaliate, Vikram is said to have physically assaulted him.
The matter escalated later that evening around 9.30 pm, when Vikram allegedly returned to the scene with his father, Hareshbhai Sondharwa. As per police officials, both father and son verbally abused him and launched a violent attack. During the scuffle, Hareshbhai allegedly drew a knife from the back of his trousers and stabbed Darsheel in the forehead.
Bleeding heavily, Darsheel was rescued by his elder brother Karnav and taken home, where emergency medical services were contacted. He was rushed to SVP Hospital and treated for a deep laceration, receiving five stitches in the outpatient department.
The Vejalpur police have registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS based on the complaint and have started an investigation into the matter.
