Youth stabbed allegedly over dispute involving lost mobile phone in Behrampura

19-year-old labourer undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital after alleged knife attack by acquaintance near Manav Sadhana Tuition Classes
A 19-year-old casual labourer from Ahmedabad has alleged that he was stabbed by an acquaintance following a dispute over a lost mobile phone in the Behrampura area of the city.
According to Danilimda police, the incident took place on the night of May 25 near Ram Rahim Tekro in Behrampura.
Sachin Ishwarbhai Parmar, a resident of Ram Rahim Tekro, stated that his Vivo mobile phone had gone missing around 15 days ago. He later allegedly learnt through friends that the handset had been found by his acquaintance, Kishan Barot, who resides near Chamunda Mata Chowk in Behrampura.
Parmar alleged that when he approached Barot seeking the return of the mobile phone, the latter demanded money in exchange for handing over the device. Parmar allegedly refused to pay him.
Police said that on May 25 at around 9 pm, while Parmar was returning home from the Riverfront side, the accused allegedly intercepted him and took him near the rear entrance of the Manav Sadhana Tuition Classes at Ram Rahim Tekro.
Barot again demanded money for returning the phone and began abusing him. During the altercation, the accused allegedly slapped him several times. When Parmar protested, Barot allegedly pulled out a sharp knife concealed at his waist and stabbed him once on the left arm before fleeing from the spot.
Following the attack, Parmar returned home in an injured condition. His family subsequently shifted him to LG Hospital through the 108 ambulance service. Doctors there later referred him to Civil Hospital, Asarwa, for surgery and further treatment.
Police said the complainant is currently undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital.
Danilimda police have registered a case against Kishan Barot for assault and causing injuries with a sharp weapon. Further investigation is under way.
