A video from Surat’s Sarthana Nature Park Zoo has sparked outrage after showing a young man allegedly throwing stones at a tiger inside its enclosure. The short clip, which has gone viral on social media, has drawn criticism from animal lovers and wildlife activists, who are demanding strict action against those responsible.

In the video, the tiger can be seen resting quietly under a tree when a visitor allegedly throws stones towards the animal. Many people believe the act was intended to provoke the tiger and attract its attention. Although the clip is only a few seconds long, animal welfare supporters have expressed concern that the animal may have been disturbed for a longer period before the video was recorded.

The incident has also raised questions about the behaviour of other visitors present at the spot. According to reports, several people were nearby when the incident occurred, but no one appeared to stop the individual or report the matter immediately.

Animal lovers have urged the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) and zoo authorities to investigate the case thoroughly. They have called for CCTV footage from the zoo premises to be examined so that the person involved can be identified and appropriate legal action can be taken.

Wildlife experts point out that teasing, disturbing or provoking animals can negatively affect their health and behaviour. Similar complaints involving visitors disturbing animals have been reported at zoos in the past.

The incident has once again highlighted the need for greater awareness among visitors and stricter enforcement of rules inside wildlife facilities. Authorities are expected to review the matter and determine whether further action will be taken.
