Youth attempting suicide from Dadhichi Bridge in Ahmedabad rescued in dramatic operation

A young man who attempted to end his life by jumping off the Dadhichi Bridge in Ahmedabad was saved in a heart-stopping rescue on Tuesday, thanks to the swift action and presence of mind of two brave youths at the spot.

According to officials, the man was seen preparing to jump off the bridge when two bystanders immediately intervened. The duo, described as “courageous and alert”, managed to hold on to him and prevent him from falling, even as he struggled to break free.

A rescue team was alerted and reached the spot within minutes. With coordinated effort, they secured the man and safely pulled him back onto the bridge.

Witnesses said the efforts of the two young rescuers were crucial in preventing a tragedy. “If they had hesitated even for a moment, the situation could have turned fatal,” an officer said.

The rescued youth was later handed over to the police and taken for medical examination. Further inquiry into the circumstances leading to the suicide attempt is under way.
