Youth nabbed from airport with fake passport, made to enter US illegally

Seven months ago, a youth from Mehsana district was detained from the airport in possession of a bogus passport. In the police investigation, it was revealed that the an agent had charged the youth ₹22 lakh tor forge a passport for the youth, on the basis of which the youth crossed the border from Canada to USA.

SOG Crime Branch PI MS Trivedi has filed a complaint at the Airport Police Station against Dharmashabhai Manubhai Patel of Adundara village of Mehsana's Kadi taluka  and agent Vishnubhai Laldas Patel of Jasalpur village of Mehsana. The accused had returned from the US after seven months. At that time, the airport immigration officer checked his passport, which was turned out to be fake.

The accused agent, however, passed away last year. The police investigation revealed that he charged ₹22 lakh for a bogus passport. Utilising that, the accused had crossed USA border from Canada illegally.

This comes amid the return of 33 Gujaratis deported from the US for illegal immigration. On Thursday, the plane carrying over 100 illegal Indian immigrants from the US, many of them from Gujarat. The returnees arrived at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport from Amritsar, and were sent to their native places directly right from the airport.
