Youth killed in violent clash in Ahmedabad’s Meghaninagar area

A street scuffle escalated into a deadly confrontation involving swords and knives leading to a murder in Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad. The victim, Himmatsinh Pawar, son of retired army personnel Jaysinh Pawar, succumbed to his injuries early on Tuesday.
According to police, an argument between Himmatsinh and local youth Hitesh alias Buchiyo Patni quickly spiralled out of control. Hitesh, along with his associates—Pikachu Patni, Ajay Patni and Nikhul alias Dato Patni—allegedly attacked Himmatsinh with sharp weapons.
The victim, found severely injured, was rushed to Civil Hospital in Asarwa through a 108 ambulance, but died during treatment, converting the case into murder.
Following his son’s death, Jaysinh Pawar lodged a complaint naming Hitesh Patni and others for the fatal assault. Police have registered the FIR and begun efforts to trace and arrest the accused.
Meanwhile, the opposite group has also filed a counter-complaint. Patni has alleged that the confrontation began over reckless rickshaw driving and that Himmatsinh attacked him with a sword.
In his statement, Patni claimed that when his brothers and associates intervened, they too were assaulted, leaving Nikhul injured and requiring treatment at Civil Hospital.
Police are now investigating both versions as part of the cross-cases.
