Youth killed in hit-and-run accident on Anjali Bridge in Ahmedabad

A 22-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Anjali Bridge in Ahmedabad’s Vasna area early morning on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Karan Bhil, was travelling on a motorcycle when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle on the bridge. The impact caused him to be thrown onto the road, resulting in severe injuries, including fatal head trauma. He died on the spot, while the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Kalubhai Bhil (50), a casual labourer who lives near the Dholka toll plaza, Karan had taken his employer’s motorcycle on the afternoon of January 24 to attend a wedding at a relative’s home in the Vadaj area.
Police said Karan was returning via Anjali Bridge towards Vasna in the early hours of the following day when the accident occurred.
A case has been registered against the unknown driver at the Traffic Police Division N station. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle involved and trace the accused.
