Youth abducted, assaulted over salary dispute in Ahmedabad

A man was allegedly abducted and brutally assaulted by a group of men following a salary-related dispute in the Vadaj area of Ahmedabad, police said on Wednesday. A case has been registered under serious charges, and an investigation is under way.

The incident began when the victim was called near Sanjeevani Hospital under the pretext of a discussion. Upon reaching the spot, the man was allegedly forced into a car by the accused and abducted.

Officials said the assailants assaulted him inside the vehicle before taking him towards Chandlodia. During the journey, more individuals reportedly joined the group, and the victim was subjected to further beating.

Police said the accused beat the man mercilessly using belts and their hands. His mobile phone was also allegedly snatched during the assault.

The attackers are said to have taken the victim near Gota Lake, where they again assaulted him, allegedly to intimidate and create fear. The accused also recorded a video of the assault and threatened the victim before letting him go.

A police official said that a case has been registered at Vadaj Police Station under relevant sections, including those about abduction, assault and criminal intimidation.

Police officials added that efforts are under way to identify and apprehend all those involved, and further investigation into the case is ongoing.
