 Year of Cooperatives: Gujarat set for 100% digitalisation of APMCs

Gujarat is set to digitalise all its 224 Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMC)s. 

As part of the ‘International Year of Cooperatives’  celebration, the state government had organised a zone-wise review-training programme to make all the APMCs better and more efficient through technology. A large number of leaders of the cooperative sector, including secretaries of a total of 144 marketing committees, participated.

A review-training programme covering various topics was held zone wise at APMC Ahmedabad, Unjha, Rajkot and Surat.

The discussions included review of the implementation of ‘National Agriculture Market’-eNAM, importance of ‘Agriculture Marketing’-AGMARK data entry for market price transparency, promotion of digital transactions in agricultural trade, discussion on the development of e-APMC portal, gate entry, e-Trade and e-Payment, organisation of training programmes for farmers and market partners were discussed in detail.

The programmes were held in six districts of the North Zone, 10 of the Central Zone, five of the South Zone and 12 districts of Saurashtra and Kutch Zones.
